Wine Professional 2026 Amsterdam: inspiration, encounters and new discoveries
In January (2026), we visited Wine Professional in Amsterdam, the leading trade fair for wine professionals. We tasted new vintages, met existing suppliers, and discovered exciting wines from new producers. From white Rioja and oak-aged Chardonnay to rosé and fuller-bodied reds. An inspiring day full of great conversations, familiar faces, and new ideas. With several beautiful new additions on the way, we are enthusiastically continuing with Wijnhuis Cave. 🍷
Learn moreAbbotts & Delaunay: where French finesse and a touch of rebellion make wine
Abbotts & Delaunay is a winery breathing new life into the Languedoc region with wines that possess both character and finesse. They work with small terroirs, a great deal of attention, and just enough rebellion to create exciting, modern wines that are never dull. The English-French duo behind the winery combines pragmatism with elegance, making their style a perfect fit for wine lovers who seek quality without pretension. At Wijnhuis Cave, we find them a great match: accessible, tasteful, and exactly the kind of wines you put on the table that immediately pique everyone's curiosity.
Learn moreAlcohol-free isn't boring. Really, it isn't.
In this blog, Wijnhuis Cave breaks the cliché that wine professionals only drink wine and have nothing to do with non-alcoholic beverages. According to them, it's not about all or nothing, but about balance: choosing what suits the moment. Alcohol-free has long ceased to be a trend, but rather a conscious movement, something Casper and Vera – currently in marathon training – fully identify with. Not all alcohol-free drinks are the same. De-alcoholized wine, in particular, often lacks excitement and flavour because the alcohol is removed afterwards. That's why Wijnhuis Cave prefers to focus on naturally alcohol-free drinks, such as high-quality tea or fruit and herb combinations, which offer structure, bitterness, acidity, and complexity without pretending to be wine. Alcohol-free can be mature, exciting, and seriously delicious. It's not about drinking less wine, but about drinking better – sometimes with alcohol, sometimes without. Finally, Wijnhuis Cave shares three favourite alcohol-free alternatives from their range: Jörg Geiger Cuvée no. 11: green apple, blossom, lime, and herbs Jörg Geiger 32°: green apple, peach, quince, and fennel Vincero Rosé Alcoholfree: strawberry, raspberry, grapefruit, and rose petals Even without alcohol, it remains enjoyable at the Cave.
