🧡 What are you drinking this King's Day?
King's Day is perhaps one of the most enjoyable days of the year. The city turns orange, the terraces are full, and toasts are made everywhere 🍊🥂
Whether you start the day in your garden, take a boat trip, or seek out the hustle and bustle in the center of Delft, one thing is for sure: it calls for a good bottle of wine.
🌸 Rosé = the ultimate King's Day wine
End of April (hopefully) means sun, and sun calls for rosé.
Rosé is fresh, fruity, and easy to drink, exactly what you want on a day when you primarily want to enjoy yourself and not drink anything too heavy.
Our favorites for King's Day:
-
Domaine Robert Vic Greg & Juju Rosé: playful, fruity, and delightfully accessible. This is a top choice for value for money!
-
Château Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé: refined, elegant, and a bit more chic
-
Chapelle du Seuil (Château d’Aix-en-Provence): You might know the famous Aix rosé that you see on every terrace in Amsterdam… This is the better (and more affordable) alternative. And the best part: it literally comes from the same village in Provence.
Whichever you choose: you can never go wrong with rosé.
🥂 The perfect bottle for on the go
Going into the city? Then you'll want something easy to carry.
That's why our half bottles (0.375L) are ideal 👌
Think of a fresh Cava to toast the king – small in size, but big in fun.
Prefer white? Fresh white wines also do perfectly on King's Day.
-
Pinot Grigio – light, fresh, and thirst-quenching
-
Chardonnay – a bit fuller, but still wonderfully smooth
Perfect for in the sun, on a terrace, or just in your own garden.
Our advice
Keep it simple: choose a fresh wine, make sure it's well chilled, and enjoy the day.
King's Day is about conviviality, togetherness, and spontaneous moments – and with the right wine, you make it just a little bit better.
Wijnhuis Cave is open on King's Day from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM!
Cheers to the King 🧡🥂
