With Wijnhuis Cave, we want to make wine more accessible. Many wine shops primarily cater to experienced wine lovers, offering unique and often expensive bottles. While this is wonderful, it sometimes overlooks the beginner wine drinker. Yet, you don't need to be a wine connoisseur to enjoy good wine.
During our tastings, we not only let you sample various wines, but we also explain in an understandable way where flavors come from. For example, Chablis is made from Chardonnay, but it tastes very different from a full-bodied Chardonnay from California. This has to do with factors like climate, soil, and the use of oak barrels.
With such practical examples, we help you better understand what you like. Because ultimately, wine is not about what others think you should like, but about your own taste.
Additionally, we find tastings a great way to get people excited about wines they might not quickly choose themselves, such as Dutch wine. Due to limited production, these bottles are often a bit more expensive and therefore don't automatically end up in the weekly shopping basket. But the quality is now incredibly good. If you hear the story behind it and taste the wine yourself, you'll much better understand why such a bottle is special.
That's precisely why we find wine tastings so important and so enjoyable: discovering together, asking questions, and especially tasting a lot. Our first Dutch wine tasting is now fully booked, but many more will certainly follow!
