Monastrell, Amatus Dulce PICCOLO

Description:The Amatus Dulce is made from late-harvested Monastrell grapes from high-altitude vineyards in Jumilla. By allowing the grapes to ripen longer, they develop extra sugars and a beautiful concentration of fruit. A cold maceration then extracts as much color, flavor, and aroma from the grape skins as possible.

The wine has a deep cherry-red color with purple nuances. On the nose, you'll discover ripe cherries, blackberries, and figs, complemented by notes of chocolate and dried fruit. The taste is full, soft, and seductively sweet, with ripe tannins and a warm, powerful finish. Despite its richness, the wine remains beautifully balanced thanks to its pronounced fruit.

Serving suggestion:A special end to a dinner and a surprising alternative to port. With its 0.375-liter format, the wine is perfect for sharing with two to four people with a dessert or an extensive cheese board. Lightly chilled, the fruit is best enjoyed.

Fun fact:Monastrell is known as Mourvèdre in France. The grape loves warmth and therefore thrives in the dry and sunny Jumilla. Usually, powerful dry red wines are made from it, but this sweet version shows a completely different, seductively fruity side of the grape.

Winemaker:Bodegas Bleda is a family business founded in 1915 by Antonio Bleda. The winery is one of Jumilla's historic producers and played an important role in the sale and export of bottled wines from the region. Monastrell is at the heart of their production, combining the warm power of Jumilla with ripe fruit and a soft, accessible style.

Food pairing tip:Delicious with chocolate cake, brownies, chocolate mousse, or desserts with cherries and figs. Also a wonderful combination with blue cheese, aged cheeses, pâté, or foie gras. Serve the wine lightly chilled, around 14 to 16 °C.
